The big question with sleep apnea appliances and TMJ therapy is "are they covered by insurance"? The answer is YES! All services are billed for MEDICAL INSURANCE not dental as we are treating a medical condition.

For the insurance to consider oral appliance therapy as medically necessary, there must be a diagnosis of sleep apnea as recorded by overnight sleep study performed either at a sleep laboratory or by our home study. Our office will help obtain all required documentation and authorizations required by the insurance to establish coverage. This is considered durable medical equipment (DME) and coverage is usually subject to plan co-pay, co-insurance and deductible.

 

Don't see your specific insurance plan? We can work with most insurance companies to get single case agreements, which allows us to be treated as an in-network provider! This is a huge benefit for our patients, and relieves much or all of the financial burden with minimal to Zero out of pocket expense!
